Products covered by this service
- Edged boards and beams
- Planed and profiled timber
- Wooden building elements
Why conformity assessment matters
Timber and wooden building products are listed in Annex 1, items 51–59. HS 4403 and 4407 appear in Annex 5; profiled and finished products require an Annex 4 review. Processing level affects the conformity route.
Certificate or declaration: the document depends on the specific product and applicable regulation.
Understand the regulationProperties considered in the assessment
- Species, grade and permissible defects
- Moisture content and dimensions
- Strength and protective treatment for the application
These are programme-selection considerations. Required tests depend on the specific product, standard and conformity assessment scheme.
Standards to consider
Examples are shown with their scope. A catalogue listing does not make a standard mandatory for every product in this group. The applicable edition and regulatory link are checked for each request.
Details to clarify
