Products covered by this service
- Floor and wall tiles
- Glazed and unglazed porcelain tiles
- Ceramic exterior cladding
Why conformity assessment matters
Tiles must suit the loads and exposure at their place of use. We identify the relevant entry in Order No. 435 before selecting the assessment route. Indoor tiles and exposed façade tiles may need different performance evidence.
Certificate or declaration: the document depends on the specific product and applicable regulation.
Understand the regulationProperties considered in the assessment
- Water absorption and breaking strength
- Dimensions and surface quality
- Frost and abrasion resistance where relevant
These are programme-selection considerations. Required tests depend on the specific product, standard and conformity assessment scheme.
Standards to consider
Examples are shown with their scope. A catalogue listing does not make a standard mandatory for every product in this group. The applicable edition and regulatory link are checked for each request.
Details to clarify
For façade tiles we also establish size, thickness and fixing method. A tile assessment does not replace assessment of the complete façade system.
